Public Agency Regulatory Compliance

The attorneys in Whiteman Osterman & Hanna’s Compliance Practice group provide Public and Private Board guidance relating to matters of governance including operational integrity, transparency and accountability.

Public and private Boards of Directors are increasingly responsible for compliance and regulatory requirements. No longer are Board members limited to providing solely strategic guidance; rather, their role has expanded to safeguarding the ethical and legal compliance of their organization.

Of recent, the Practice Group has been retained by the City University of New York and the Government Law Center of Albany Law School to provide governance training to the Boards of State and local public authorities.

Whiteman Osterman & Hanna also has considerable experience investigating and evaluating alleged misconduct for public and private entities.

Integrity and accountability are the keys to maintaining public and shareholder trust. The Firm’s experience includes investigation of alleged waste, fraud, abuse and legal improprieties. Our attorneys, when requested, prepare reports examining the nature and scope of the conduct at issue and procedures designed to prevent a reoccurrence of such circumstance.
