Whiteman Ostmerman & Hanna LLP Announces Three New Summer Associates

ALBANY, N.Y. (June 7, 2010) – Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, the Capital Region’s largest law firm, has announced three new summer associates: Meredith Leigh Birdsall, Matthew A. Homyk, and Monica R. Skanes.

BirdsallMs. Birdsall, of Morris, N.Y., graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science from Colgate University in May 2008 and currently attends William & Mary School of Law located in Williamsburg, Virginia. Ms. Birdsall is an active member of the American Constitution, Women’s Law and Business Law Societies. Previously, she worked as a legal intern in the Chenango County District Attorney’s Office.

Homyk

Mr. Homyk, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y. obtained a B.S. degree in Science, Technology, and International Affairs from Georgetown University in May 2008. Mr. Homyk currently attends Villanova University School of Law. Mr. Homyk is a registered patent agent of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. His previous experience includes working as a judicial intern for Judge Sam D. Walker where he wrote memoranda on issues of civil procedure and marriage statutes.

SkanesMs. Skanes of Albany, N.Y. currently attends Albany Law School and obtained her B.A. in English, magna cum laude, from Ithaca College in May 2008. Previously she worked as a Law Clerk for the New York State United Teachers researching and drafting documents. Ms. Skanes is a classically trained performer in opera singing.

Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP has offered its summer internship for more than 20 years. The program offers law students an opportunity to gain legal experience. Each year, Whiteman Osterman & Hanna receives résumés from students nationwide who are interested in becoming a summer intern.
